… so that I can put a fucking bullet into the head of those robbers, thieves and thugs who are currently terrorizing the lives of the common people now. Just the other day, one of my close friends told me about how he left his car in the parking lot of his friend’s apartment and when he went back, his car was gone – just like that.
He went to the police station to make a report (not that they are much help anyway) and the police told him that on that same day and same area, there were 5 vehicles reported stolen. So today, after I finished my last post in my blog and was about to hit the sack, an SMS came in telling me another friend of mine got his house broken into and they took his car as well.
So here I am sitting and staring blankly at my screen wondering what is wrong with these people? I look back at some of my earlier posts predicting that crime rates are expected to rise but what I did not expect is to be so close to the after-effects. Of course I cannot ascertain if these 2 were mere conincidences but I dread to think that 2 of my buddies are so unlucky at around the same time.
At this point in time, I am filled with mixed feelings. Anger, disappointment and frustration just to name a few. Who’s fault is it anyway? Is it ours as the citizens of Malaysia that we are not careful with our lives and belongings? Or could it be due to the oil price increase? The government? The police? Who?
Anyway, I am very tired but I just can’t sleep after hearing what happened. So I am going to take the easy way out and put the blame on the most obvious choice – our government.
THIS is the effect of an abrupt oil increase. THIS is the effect of bad planning. THIS is the effect of greed and the FAILURE to watch over the welfare of the general citizen. THIS is the perfect example of irresponsibility. As citizens who can we turn to now? We’re not even moving forward anymore.
Change of lifestyle? What the f**k do you want us to do? Ride bicycles? Plant our own damn vegetables? Let’s tell the world that Malaysia has gone from building the tallest building in the world to being an agricultural nation. Shouldn’t be that hard since most of those making the decisions have a third world mentality.
Yes, I blame our government because tomorrow I will not be able to live my life in peace. I will need to be extra careful when driving into my house or even getting into/off my car. I will need to take extra precaution whenever I am going out for a jog. I will need to worry about the safety of my loved ones and those closest to me.
In other words… I will be more paranoid than ever and I am sure a lot of us are in the same boat. Some of us probably had first hand encounters with those scums and I know how it feels to have your house broken into, to have a loved one robbed in broad daylight, or to even endure the uncertainties of paranoia. Let’s not even go into rape or murder…we’ve seen those in the papers.
Words cannot describe how angry I am. Here is a suggestion:
Everytime a snatch thief or robber is caught, the police should chop his hand off in public. I don’t care if human rights organizations opposes it. If these people cannot act like human beings, then they should not be treated as such. Put it in plain view for all to see especially for those animals who are thinking of commiting heinous crimes such as these.
Now where is my gun?

i agree when you said that we all hate those crap that have nothing better to do rather than being a pain in the society…
however, i partially agree if you are putting all the blame onto the government . yes, the current government policies are indirectly affecting the social behavior of people( some might choose towards the negative side)….
but it is important to know that to steal is a choice of any human being. how difficult his life would be, its his choice to choose the solution….there are those who are poor but not to resort stealing as a solution…
and the choice to shoot is also yours…
Well I bet Canny Ong tried to reason or beg her way out when she was abducted. I bet Sharlinie was too young to realize she was abducted and God knows where she is now. I bet the hundreds of people who had first hand encounters with snatch thieves wished they could “talk” to their assailants.
Then again I bet that is assuming that our society consists of civilized people.
I agree there could be more parties sharing the responsibility of a rising crime rate. But the reason I chose to pin point one ROOT cause is because crime rates although we cannot drive it down to zero but there are many ways in which we can reduce it to acceptable levels and it is the job of the government to ensure necessary steps are implemented in order to achieve that.
Like you’ve mentioned, “there are those who are poor but did not resort to stealing as a solution”
Exactly. So those who DO resort to committing crimes should be punished in a harsh fashion during such trying times because they are not the only ones struggling to cope with the recent developments.
in that sense i agree with you
